Voyager 15. Ordinary Bitter
After my love of voyager 14 I decided to pump the breaks a little bit and do a bit of investigating. While the beer was great it wasn’t as good as it could be and I really need to know what i could get out that Tim Taylors yeast strain. I’m dialling back the amount of malt which will help get to the gravity I was wanting and hopefully let me understand how the yeast esters and the hops are playing together.

BREWING AND TASTING
Nothing interesting to note on the brewing side of things, everything was textbook.
Taste wise, this beer was magnificent.
A group of my friends (utter beer snobs) and I enjoyed this beer greatly. It made a very good session beer that was drunk throughout the day and disappeared very quickly. The Special B works so nicely with the Maris Otter, lots of nuance and complexity without any harshness i would expect from a grain as dark as this. Don’t get me wrong, that harshness can be quite desirable, anyone who drinks London pride knows exactly what i mean, but this beer was clean, refreshing and brilliant.
