WAAAAGH. Vienna Lager
I was wondering around my little brewery and I found a bag of Vienna malt, I immediately got very excited and started planning out a beer.
I have a bit of a love hate relationship with lager. To this day I believe that the best beer I have ever made was a lager (Maybe I’ll post that later) but its not a style I go crazy about. I’ll drink bitter every day very happily but one day you get that craving for something seriously cold and crisp, usually at a barbeque. If I’m making a lager its going to have some guts to it, being crisp doesn’t mean bland and watery. Big malt flavour, bitterness to keep it clean and a charge of Czech Saaz to keep it balanced

This was a seriously malty lager, think shortbread and pretzel flavours. Need to up the hops a bit but this was a very fun beer to drink.
Utterly fantastic with food. I drank this with some barbequed polish sausage and it was a match made in heaven.
